Passions of the Heart

What do you really love about life? What I mean is what floats your boat? Everybody I know has something they are passionate about, something they enjoy more than most other things. If you are not sure what your passions are, just do the following three checks: One, look at your checkbook, secondly, look at your calendar and finally, listen to what you talk about more than anything else. You will find your passions.

My physical heart has been acting up lately. I am wearing a heart monitor and it goes off when my heartbeat races out of control. It has put me in the hospital twice in the last few weeks. I have looked at the three check-off items above and noticed something. My checkbook has been paying medical co-pays, my calendar has a lot "sick days" written on it and I have told my hospital stories over and over. It is all I talk about. But are these my passions?

Each time my heart raced out of control I was doing one of the following three things, all of which I love: One, I was flying my plane, another time I was taking a Sunday nap, and the other time was right after I preached to my great church family. I love all of those parts of my life. What do you love? What would it take to get your heart racing? You might learn something about yourself that has become the passion of your heart.
